I've enjoyed the benefits of a loving family, a good education and world travel. I met the man of my dreams in high school, married him and traveled the globe with three daughters and assorted family pets in tow. I've lived on both coasts twice, and in at least five cities in between. In the '90s I enjoyed a tour of 'corporate' duty in both Europe and South America.

My most ardent wish has always been, to return permanently to the place of my birth - the place I most fondly remember as home. The opportunity unexpectedly presented itself in the Spring of 2008.

With less than twenty-four hours to contemplate the full significance of what we were about to do, my husband and I set out on what we hoped would be our last great adventure. One that would take us home to a place where the highways have two lanes, not six, where it's still PC to wish each other Merry Christmas, not Happy Holiday, and where women aren't afraid to be seen riding a tractor, or pulling weeds on a Saturday afternoon.
